On second thought: I’m such a dork. I really want to try to get to the Maritime Festival down on the waterfront in Seattle today. It might end up being lame–no idea on that, as I’ve never been before–but the nautical wannabe in me wants to check it out anyway. I’ve always been fascinated with things like that ever since I was a kid growing up in Connecticut. Now to see if I can convince Andi to go… Then, tonight, we’ve got the Yankees at the Mariners. I finally get to see Alex Rodriguez. And I get to safely jeer the Yankees in person for the first time (only ever seen them at Yankee Stadium before, and I am not suicidal)! Of course, we’re in the upper deck, so they won’t hear me. But it’s the thought that counts, damn it.
Now, to see if I can avoid spending too much money on the GPS…
We’re going to the game tonight, got 3rd base seats six rows back off the field. I get to see my boy Mike Piazza! Mets hat will be worn in honor and I’ll have to yell out “GO METS!” to him.
The odds of him hearing that in Seattle are so insignificant I bet I get a wave, or something.
We’re going tomorrow for the day game as well, with Andi’s mom but we’ll be up in the view boxes directly behind home plate. That’s right above the press box, looks like. Should be a good view.
I can’t remember the last time I did back to back games aside from the odd double headers.

I move, the Mets are the #1 team in baseball. Rassumfrassum… sorry, everyone. The last decade(s) were my fault.
Hope is the Enemy in Flushing. But… 5-1 so far. I hate you bastards. Bastards. You do this to me every other year. If you’re going to suck just open the season 0-20. Dash my hope like the brains of a baby seal is dashed beneath an Eskimo’s club. I love you, New York Mets, and Hate You.
There’s something to be loved about those all you can eat buffet places. Two plates of good (if unspectacular) food, a salad, and then dessert for $8 can’t be beat. Especially when one of your friends picks up the tab, which is always pretty sweet. Of course now I have to buy him the next few beers…
I’m not going to be able to sleep tonight at all. Last night I was up until 4am, and then slept until almost 1pm, and then slept another three hours later on. Add in that I’m drinking coffee right now, and Sunday is basically shot for me. It’s such
an odd feeling, considering I normally will sleep a total of four or five hours in any given night, and sometimes even less. My body’s just totally unwound right now, and I’m completely relaxed, but I feel very slow at the same time, despite having tons of energy. Of course, come Monday night I won’t be able to sleep again, as my body will slide right back into “never tired” mode, and I’ll have to consciously make myself fall asleep most every night. Shit.
Cool Thing of the Day: Myke gave me an absolutely kick-ass 1962/1986 Mets poster that’s framed and basically shows gobs of Mets merchandise and gear from both years. Very, very, very cool. Myke goes far up on the Karmic Scale for this one.
